MUSCAT: Ahead of Eid Al Adha, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health has urged people to avoid gatherings which can lead to increasing the number of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in the country.
Speaking at the press conference on Thursday, Al Saidi said: “We remind everyone that the days of Eid Al-Adha are approaching, and we hope that these days will not lead to increasing the number of cases, spread of disease and high number of death,” he said.
“Before participating any gathering for Eid or barbecue and other Eid activities, you have to think of the following: What if you are infected and transmit the virus to other people with diseases or to those who are receiving treatment and may not be able to bear the infection?,” he asked.

Oman will impose a total lockdown from July 25 to August 8. All movements including walking will be prevented from 7pm to 6am daily.
“You are our third eye, and we call upon you to report any violators of the decisions. We are all partners in this battle, and you are our greatest support,” Al Saidi added.
