MUSCAT: The Arabic hashtag #PrinceofHumanity flooded the internet as thousands of citizens in Oman are praying for the speedy recovery of Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who was admitted to the hospital for medical checks on Saturday.
According to media reports, the Emir is in “good health” but gave no further details.
His half-brother and crown prince, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah, will “temporarily” take on a number of functions.
Omanis took to Twitter to pray for the Emir’s recovery. “Prayers from the land of love to the people of Kuwait on the speedy recovery of Emir, the man of honesty and loyalty,” a Twitter handle by the name of Aminar_Of_Oman said.
Even during the passing of late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sheikh Sabah, braved his ill-health to come in person to offer his condolences to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
The time-tested and deep-rooted bilateral relations between Oman and Kuwait have been further cemented by promoting cooperation between the governments of the two countries in many areas, with the objective of consolidating the bonds of fraternal ties and making the best use of cooperation in various aspects which serve the march of joint action.
