MUSCAT: A total of 37 Indians who were stranded in Hyderabad have returned to Oman on Saturday after receiving the necessary approvals from the authorities.
Most of them are Indian School students, their families and those who went for treatments and were stranded due to the airport closure in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.
Speaking exclusively to The Arabian Stories, Ismail Baig of Deccan Wing of Indian Social Club who facilitated the approvals and travel along with Mohammed Zaheer said most of them are returning back to the country after four months. “Most of them went on vacation, and some for treatment. They were stranded for nearly for months. Most of them received the approval to return on July 15,” Ismail said.

“We took all the necessary approvals to ensure their travel was smooth,” he said.
The passengers came by SalamAir. “We would like to thank Ministry of Foreign affairs Oman and the Indian embassy officials especially ambassador Shri Munu Mahawar for providing all possible support to bring back and unite the families,” Ismail added.
As reported by TAS last week, stranded residents can return to Oman, provided they receive the necessary approvals from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, 23 students who are residents of Oman had returned from US, Canada and Europe.
