MUSCAT: More than 4,000 Pakistani residents who are stranded outside the country have registered with the embassy to return to Oman.
Speaking exclusively to The Arabian Stories, His Excellency K. K. Ahsan Wagan, Ambassador of Pakistan said the embassy is looking at options to bring the residents back. “We are doing an online registration and there are more than 4000 people who have registered to return to Oman. We are looking at options on how we can bring them back as the airport is closed. We will go by the laws of the country and the decisions of the Supreme Committee,” he said.
According to the Ambassador, most of the stranded residents who have registered are those working in private sector companies and businessmen. “Some of them had travelled before the airport closure and was stranded. We hope to find a solution soon,” he added.

Meanwhile, as many as 5,000 Pakistani passengers have been flown from Oman so far. The embassy is also arranging special flights with Oman Air and SalamAir to repatriate the remaining passengers.
