MUSCAT: Oman has no plans to reopen mosques soon, Minister of Health confirmed on Thursday.

All mosques in the country are closed since March due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Speaking to the media, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi said it’s too early to announce a date to reopen mosques. “Any place that has large gatherings is dangerous. There are no plans to reopen mosques soon. The virus is very active,” he said.

Oman on Thursday confirmed 1,366 new coronavirus cases, taking the total to 34,902.
