MUSCAT: More than 70 Indian healthcare workers who were stranded in India arrived in Oman on Sunday to support their colleagues at the Ministry of Health in the fight against Covid-19.

The 73 staff from MOH were stranded while on annual leave when Muscat airports closed in March.

The medics arrived in Muscat on Sunday afternoon in Air India Express flight from Kochi.

The authorities took necessary approvals from the Indian government for their return to the country. “The first batch arrived today and we are expecting more healthcare workers who are in India to arrive in Oman in the coming days,” a source informed The Arabian Stories.
