MUSCAT: Stranded Indian passengers travelling from Oman to Kerala on chartered flights will have to mandatorily do Covid-19 test from June 20, a top Indian Embassy official informed The Arabian Stories (TAS) on Tuesday.
Speaking exclusively to TAS, the official said this is based on a Kerala government decision to make Covid-19 negative certificate mandatory for stranded residents to return to the Indian state via chartered flights. “The Covid-19 test is only applicable to those passengers travelling by chartered flights and not for the Vande Bharat Mission flights and it is based on the Kerala government’s directive to our embassy in Muscat,” the embassy official clarified.
According to the embassy official, passengers can conduct the test in any private hospitals. “The social organisations and NGOs who are operating these charter flights can advise the passengers about it. But as far as we know, all passengers need to have a test certificate

Over 3,000 Indians have already been repatriated in charter flights in two weeks. According to the official, over 9,000 Indians were evacuated in the last 40 days.
