MUSCAT: Motorists in Oman have been warned not to drive vehicles if their insurance have expired.
However, the Royal Oman Police has reiterated that there will be no fines for those people whose driving licence have expired.
“We ask everyone to ensure their vehicle is insured and if its expired dont drive. You need to renew before you drive the car. If your driving licence has expired, there will be no fines and you can renew it once the ROP service centres are reopened,” said a senior ROP official.

Get mulkiya from ROP kiosks
In the wake of coronavirus outbreak in the country, ROP closed all its customer services. “Motorists can renew their mulkiya (vehicle registration) through the kiosks that’s available in most of the Lulu Hypermarkets in the country. Once they (motorists) renew their insurance, they can visit one of these ROP kiosks and get the mulkiya,” he added.
