MUSCAT: Heavy rainfall will continue in Dhofar Governorate during the next 24 hours associated with fresh to strong winds and flooding, according to the latest weather bulletin.
The latest weather charts and the analysis of the National Multi Hazards Early Warning Center indicate that the tropical depression located over Dhofar governate with estimated surface wind speed around the center between 15 and 23 knots (27 to 40 Km/hr) is likely to move to the West in the coming hours.
“Heavy rain is expected (100-200 mm) during next 24 hours associated with fresh to strong winds and flooding over low and coastal areas and increase in wadis flow with reduction in horizontal visibility,” the statement said.
On Saturday night, a residential building that houses expatriate workers collapses due to heavy rain. One person died and three others were injured in the incident.
