MUSCAT: The decision to remove control check points between governorates was taken based on a recommendation from the Ministry of Health.
Last week, the Royal Oman Police had terminated all checkpoints between governorates except Muscat. Speaking to the media, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health responded to the reason behind removing the checkpoints. “Any action is taken thoroughly discussed with all relevant authorities. Removal of the Control and Checkpoints between the Governorates was a request from the Ministry of Health, as the movement during the day between the Wilayats and the Governorates has been low,” Al Saidi explained.
“If we need to lock down a Governorate, a Wilayat or a part of a Wilayat, we will do so immediately based on analysis,” he added.
