MUSCAT: With the Holy month of Ramadan set to start next week, His Excellency Dr. Saif bin Mohammed Al Hosni, Undersecretary of Ministry of Health (MOH) has advised citizens and residents to follow safe practices in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The Supreme Committee has already issued directions to avoid public or social gatherings during the time of Ramadan. This is time all of us have to be cautious as there are chances that the virus can spread,” he said.
Al Hosni reiterated that social distancing is the only way to control the virus. “71% of the cases that was reported recently comes from community transfer and this shows that gathering in public is dangerous. Despite these restrictions and advises, some people still continue to gather,” he added.
