MUSCAT: As the Supreme Committee announced the decision to close the entry and exit points of Muscat Governorate from April 10 to April 22, the Royal Oman Police has appealed to the public to stay indoors.
As per the decision, Muscat will be isolated from all other governorates in the country, while movements of public will be completely restricted except for grocery shopping, medical emergency and for employees who are required to attend work. However, employees who are currently based outside Muscat Governorate won’t be allowed to enter, except for those who are required to attend work in coordination with their companies.
Speaking about the lockdown, Major Mohammed Al Hashmi of Royal Oman Police said: When the Supreme Committee’s decision to form control and monitor points in the governorates began to be applied, there was a great commitment from everyone and traffic was reduced, but two days ago the traffic movement increased again, so we ask everyone not to go out except in the extreme necessity, whether for shopping or for emergency situations.”
