MUSCAT: As the economic fallout from the pandemic begins to bite, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) has urged the owners of commercial centers, landlords and real estate companies to reduce or postpone rents.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, OCCI also called on the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) to urge financial institutions including banks to postpone postponing the installments to companies and employees working in the private sector for a period of six months without accumulating interest.
Meanwhile, the OCCI also asked private sector companies to adhere to the Supreme Committee’s instructions to reduce the number of employees at workplace.
