Muscat: The General Directorate of Pharmacy and Drug Control of the Ministry of Health has issued a circular suspending the registration, importation and distribution of all medicines containing ranitidine.
The decision initiated by the Central Gulf Committee for Drug Registration is based on the recommendations of the US Food and Drug Administration, FDA.
The Ministry called on patients wishing to stop taking ranitidine, to consult a healthcare professional for replacement.
