MUSCAT: No educational institution in Oman must suspend classes without coordinating with relevant government authorities, Ministry of Health said.

Ministry of Health on Saturday issued a statement clarifying the procedures for suspending studies in educational institutions in the country.

“The Ministry recommends that no educational institution must suspend studies without coordination with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, the authority, or the ministry affiliated with it, after referring to Ministry of Health,” the statement said.

The ministry said that the decision to suspend studies in any educational institution depends on the local epidemiological situation of the disease and it will also assess the risks based on the cases.
