MUSCAT : His Excellency Lieutenant General Hassan bin Mohsen Al Shuraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs, issued Decision No. 145/2026 to establish duty-free markets at Al Wajajah, Khatmat Milaha and Rub’ al Khali border crossings, the Royal Oman Police announced.
The markets are intended to make a range of products and goods available to travellers at competitive prices through exemptions from customs duties and taxes, according to the announcement.
The initiative is also expected to support commercial activity at the crossings, strengthen the logistics sector and contribute to tourism development.
The planned markets will provide travellers with additional shopping options, enhancing the overall border-crossing experience while creating further opportunities for economic activity at Oman’s land entry points.
