MUSCAT: His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health has asked health workers to avoid taking leave except for extreme necessity as the number of coronavirus cases in the country touched 16 on Thursday.
A student at College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) has been tested positive with the virus. In a statement issued, CBFS said it has suspended all classes and activities for a period of 14 days starting March 5, 2020. “The college management had taken all precautionary measures to contain the spread of virus infection in the college,” CBFS said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Health also asked pharmaceutical companies not to hike prices of medicines. “Legal procedures will be taken against anyone who violates the law,” the Ministerial decision added.
