MUSCAT: The country is fully prepared to tackle any emergency after two women were tested positive of coronavirus on Monday, according to the Minister of Health (MOH).
Oman reported its first two cases of coronavirus, and halted flights to and from Iran with immediate effect.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that the two infected citizens who had returned from Iran are in a stable condition and subject to quarantine at home.

Speaking to national television Oman TV, Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health said the two women who were detected with coronavirus have only mild symptoms and “their medical condition does not require them to be hospitalised.”

The Minister informed that more than 250 “suspected cases” of coronavirus have been quarantined. “Most of these cases came from coronavirus hit countries,” he added.
Oman immediately suspended all flights to and from Iran until further notice. Kuwait and Bahrain were also reported with coronavirus cases on Monday bringing the number of countries in the Middle East with the virus, known as COVID-19, to nine.
