MUSCAT: Sree Kakkannoor temple, a centuries old temple in South Indian state of Kerala, India is offering a mass feast to the poor and offer prayers in memory of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur on February 3, the organisers have informed.
Sree Kakkannor temple, located in Edacherry, Vadakara in a Kozhikode will host the mass feast in the name of the late Sultan during its annual festival thirayattam which will be held from January 29 to February 3.
“Most of the people residing in this area are working in Oman and they discussed this idea with the management of the temple who agreed to do this gesture in memory of the great leader,” said a temple official.

According to the management, the feast will offerer to the destitutes, orphans, elderly and poor people in the district.
“Our festival is very famous and people from across the globe comes to attend it. And this time, it’s for a good cause,” added the official.
