Muscat: Oman’s Minister of Health has advised citizens and residents to avoid traveling to China due to an outbreak of the coronavirus in that country.
His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Saidi urged citizens and residents to only travel “if it is necessary.”
“The coronavirus is spreading rapidly in China and other countries. Therefore, I advise citizens and residents to only travel to China if it is necessary,” he said during the sidelines of a review meeting at the MOH headquarters on Wednesday.

As of Wednesday, there were 5,974 confirmed cases of the virus in mainland China, including 132 deaths, according to China’s National Health Commission (NHC).
