Kabul: A passenger plane has crashed in Afghanistan’s central Ghazni province, senior Afghan officials said on Monday, according to media reports.
The plane crashed in Taliban territory and Afghan special forces are to be sent to the crash site, local media also reported. The number of casualties and exact details were unclear.
It was initially reported to be a plane from the state-owned Ariana Afghan Airlines. However, the airline’s acting CEO Mirwais Mirzakwal has since denied that one of its planes had crashed. —- Agencies
