Muscat: The athletes of Indian School Muscat performed astoundingly well at the 24th CBSE National Athletic Meet held at Allons Public School, Bemetara, Raipur, Chattisgarh, India from November 26, 2019 to November 30 , 2019 and made everyone proud back home. Many records were created in this process of success and jubilation.
The school continued its winning streak by creating other records to achieve pinnacles of success in the sporting arena. It emerged the first team to win in both 4x100m as well as 4x400m relay in the Boys’ Category. The Overall Championship Trophy in the CBSE National Athletic Meet in any age category was also bagged by ISM from amongst all the Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman. It is also the sole team to lift the much desired Overall Championship Trophy amongst all the Indian Schools in the Gulf region. The U17 4x100m relay boys team consisted of Antonio Biju of XI I, Naman Rao of XI F, Steve Lobo of XI F, Rishikesh Menon of XI E, and Sanjay Arul of X G, and Rishikesh Menon, Antonio Biju, Naman Rao, Aurpan Deb of XII I and Mohammed Affan of X J formed the U17 4x 400m relay team.
A team of 54 dedicated and talented athletes were responsible for this record breaking feat that brought immense glory to the school. After a long wait of 19 years, the rigorous training sessions under the able guidance of the school Athletics coach and the never-give-up spirit of the students paid rich dividends. The first ISM team to have won the coveted medal in the 4x100m relay speaks volumes of their commitment.

This triumph cements ISM’s position as a formidable team to look forward to in the league of successful institutions as it is the first Athletic school team to win medals for 10 consecutive years unhindered. This is the school’s 19th year of participation in the CBSE Nationals out of the 23 years of the inception of this competition and the school has won a total of 128 medals.
