Muscat: The Oman Cancer Association (OCA) will host the 16th annual walkathon on October 29 at the Qurum Natural Park.
The walkathon, according to Dr Waheed bin Ali al Kharousi, chairman of OCA, aims to create an awareness on all forms of cancer. He said the association aims to have 10,000 participants at the walkathon. “It’s open to all ages. It is a symbolic walk of just under 3km,” he said. Last year, 8,456 people registered for the event. The event will start at 4pm and conclude at 6:30pm. Registration fee is OMR 3.5, that includes a free good-quality cotton T-shirt.
At the event, OCA will also make available its mobile mammography unit offering free mammograms for women over the age of 40 years.
