Muscat: Oman’s football legend Ali Al Habsi has joined English side West Bromwich Albion on Thursday.
Speaking exclusively to The Arabian Stories, the veteran goalkeeper said he always wanted to return to England. “It’s always good to be here and I always wanted to come back and play here. And it’s happening again, thanks to West Brom,” Al Habsi said.
Al Habsi who quit Saudi football giant Al Hilal FC last month took a short break before announcing this deal on Thursday.
In a statement issued by the club said: “Experienced goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi has joined us on a deal which runs until the end of the 2019/20 season. Welcome, Ali Al Habsi!”

Soon after signing the short-term deal that is expected to expire after the end of the current season, a delighted Al Habsi wrote on his social media handle: “I’m absolutely delighted to have joined @WBA for the season. It was always an ambition of mine to come back and play in England. I can’t wait to get started and I’ll give my all for this club.”
