MUSCAT : The initiative aims to create seasonal employment opportunities for Omanis, strengthen the participation of national talent in Dhofar’s tourism and seasonal activities, and support businesses that hire temporary Omani workers during periods of increased economic activity.

Under the programme, wage support will be available to eligible Omani establishments holding municipality-issued licences that employ temporary Omani staff during the seasonal periods.

The initiative also covers Omani establishments holding government contracts or tenders linked to seasonal activities, provided they employ temporary workers during the relevant season.

Omani employers organising festivals and seasonal events may also benefit when they hire temporary staff for tourism-related activities. The programme further includes Omani owners of tourist hotels and residential buildings who employ Omanis temporarily in reception positions.

Omanis organising seasonal volunteer activities that require temporary staff are also among the targeted beneficiaries, subject to the initiative’s eligibility requirements and controls.

The initiative is intended to support temporary employment while helping private-sector businesses and organisers meet workforce requirements during Dhofar’s peak tourism seasons.

Eligible establishments and employers wishing to benefit from the wage-support programme can register through the official Dhofar Municipality electronic services portal and submit their applications in accordance with the applicable categories and conditions.
