MUSCAT – The Bisat oil field contributes to raising the share of the OQ Group in the total production of oil in the Sultanate of Oman to 220,000 barrels of oil per day, which represents about 13% of the contribution of the upper part to the gross domestic product.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEO of OQ Group stated that the Bisat field is one of the most important projects of the group in the exploration and production sector as well as for the national development portfolio of the Oman Investment Authority. The in-country value of the project amounted to about RO 157 million.
The total amount spent by OQ on local SMEs and local contractors amounted to OMR 34 million of the total project cost.
