MUSCAT: The agreement was signed by H.E. Dr. Mahad bin Said bin Ali Baawain, Minister of Labour, on behalf of the Ministry of Labor, and by H.E. Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), on behalf of the Authority.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, the Chairman of OPAZ clarified that the Authority aims, through this program, to promote initiatives that facilitate procedures and raise the level of services provided to investors in its affiliated areas, so as to ensure the speedy completion of licenses and permits of all kinds through the electronic channels of the one-stop shop.
He added that the program includes enhanced training and qualification opportunities that comply with the nature of the work of companies operating in the special economic zones, free zones and industrial zones, in order to achieve integration between the Authority and the Ministry. This will help the concerned departments of factories and companies to provide specific programs during the construction period and in the early stages of operation to secure the qualification of Omanis who will work in these companies and factories upon completion of construction and commercial operation.
