MUSCAT : Balqees Al Hassani, the President of the award-winning community knowledge-sharing platform Knowledge Oman, will share an informative session at the College of Banking and Finance Studies (CBFS) on the “Characteristics of a lifelong learner”. The morning session will be hosted by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and will take place on Wednesday, 31 August 2022.

Balqees Al Hassani has embodied lifelong learning and continues to model it in her everyday life. Recognised amongst the top achievers in secondary school with a 95% aggregate, she went on to graduate from Sultan Qaboos University with a degree in Science. Her quest for seeking knowledge turned into a passion for sharing knowledge – she pursued a career in teaching. Together with her compassion for people from all walks of life, she grew in her career to become the pastoral head, assistant Principal and later the Head of Wellbeing and Student Support Services at Al Sahwa Schools. In aligning with her goal of using her knowledge, experience and skills to positively impact society through education, Balqees joined the Knowledge Oman platform and has been serving as its president since March 2020. She lead the platform toward sharing knowledge innovatively and globally during the Covid-19 Pandemic, but is grateful to be able to deliver face-to-face sessions again.

“Knowledge sharing and bridging the gaps in learning between the academia and the workplace are key functions of Knowledge Oman. We are enthusiastic to continue engaging with different organisations around Oman after the pandemic on various projects aimed at positively impacting the community,” she said.

In addition to highlighting the characteristics of a lifelong learner, the session will also define the meaning of a lifelong learner and the mindset required to be a lifelong learner.
