MUSCAT : The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) is holding a media briefing today, Monday, to highlight its journey and key achievements across the fields of academic education, scientific research, innovation, entrepreneurship, national talent development, and community service, as well as its future directions in support of the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The briefing will highlight the University’s efforts to advance technical and applied education, enhance the quality of academic programmes and learning environments, and prepare students to meet the evolving demands of the labour market. It will also address the University’s continued efforts to expand postgraduate studies, advance scientific research and innovation, and harness emerging technologies and artificial intelligence.

The event will further highlight the University’s efforts to foster entrepreneurship and innovation, strengthen partnerships with government and private sector institutions, and facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge in support of national development and the advancement of a knowledge-based economy.

The briefing will also showcase the University’s initiatives to develop national capabilities and professional skills, strengthen academic succession and qualification programmes, and build an integrated educational and research environment that responds to the requirements of the next phase.
The University will also outline its future directions, including the continued development of its academic and research programmes, the advancement of innovation, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, and the expansion of local and international partnerships. These efforts are aimed at further strengthening its role in preparing qualified national talent capable of contributing to Oman’s sustainable development and advancing the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The University continues to consolidate its role as an integrated environment for knowledge creation and capacity development, strengthening the links between education, research, innovation and the needs of society, while creating broader opportunities for national talent to play an active role in shaping the future of the Sultanate of Oman.
