MUSCAT: The total volume of trade exchange between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Jordan during the first five months of 2022 amounted to $45.3 million.
The official Jordanian statistics indicated that the total Omani exports to Jordan by the end of May 2022 amounted to about 21 million USD in food products, mineral oils and their distillation products, vegetable oils, pipes, tubes and fish, in addition to polyethylene and others.
Statistics showed that the volume of Jordanian exports to the Sultanate of Oman during the same period amounted to about 24.3 million US dollars, which includes pharmaceutical products, vegetables, meat and fish preparations, and various chemical products.

Yanal Al-Barmawi, a spokesperson for the Jordanian Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, said, “Jordan is looking forward to strengthening economic cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman in various fields during the coming period, especially commercial ones, in a way that serves common interests and maximises benefit from the opportunities available in both brotherly countries.”
He added, “There are many areas that allow increasing intra-regional trade, which is still below the required level, and motivate Omani and Jordanian businessmen to set up investment projects in various fields.”
He stressed the importance of strengthening trade relations between the private sector in both countries and communicating in order to develop economic cooperation, increase the volume of trade and establish investments.
