Defending champions Australia’s defeat at the hands of South Africa, in the thrilling final league match of the tournament, confirmed India’s top position on the points table with 15 points in nine games – 7 wins, 1 defeat and 1 washed out.
Australia (14) ended up a point behind India with 7 victories and two losses while England, who had 6 wins and 3 defeats, finished on third position with 12 points.
Kiwis, who got 11 points with 5 wins, 3 defeats and 1 washed out, edged out Pakistan on a better net run rate to finish fourth and make the last-four stage.
