Oman offers affordable restaurant meals: Report

Switzerland was ranked as the most expensive country in terms of restaurant meal prices, with an average of $26.12 per meal.

MUSCAT: Eating out at restaurants in the Sultanate of Oman is quite affordable compared to other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, according to a global database.

As per the database’s report, the average cost of eating a meal in a restaurant in the Sultanate is $5.19, compared to $8.24 in Qatar, $8.17 in the UAE, $6.66 in Kuwait, and $5.31 in Bahrain.

Algeria secured the first position among the Arab countries for the cheapest meal prices in restaurants, which is roughly $2.06 per meal. Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt followed Algeria in the same list.

Sri Lanka stood first among all the countries in the world which offers affordable restaurant meals, with an average of $1.27 per meal. Switzerland was ranked as the most expensive country in terms of prices, with an average of $26.12 per meal, followed by Norway, Iceland and Luxembourg.

Turkey ranked top with the cheapest restaurant meal prices in Europe, with an average of $3.08 per meal.
