MUSCAT: International Nurses Day (IND) is a day observed around the world on 12 May of every Year. It is the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth which is observed as International Nurses Day each year, to mark the contributions that nurses make to society. 

The International Council of Nurses is celebrating the day with theme: Nurses: A Voice to Lead – Invest in nursing and respect rights to secure global health, focusing on the need to protect, support and invest in the nursing profession to strengthen health systems around the world. This is in the background of nurses being the primary frontline warrior in our war against Covid pandemic.

Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one of the leading global jewellery retailers, has celebrated this year’s Nurses Day in an unique way by recognizing the duty & sacrifices by the Nurses during last  2 years of Global Pandemic. Malabar Gold & Diamonds has Organized  Nurses Day functions at four large Branches of Starcare viz; Seeb, Mabela, Barka & Bousher. Nurses were felicitated for their noble job with sweets & gift hampers and a special raffle draw was organized by Malabar Gold at each Location to find out the Lucky winners.
