MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman’s production of Excellent 95 motor fuel decreased by 58 percent at the end of last January, recording a 16 percent decrease in sales, while production of Normal 91 motor fuel increased by 2 percent, increasing its sales by 37 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
The statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information has indicated that the Sultanate of Oman’s production of jet fuel increased by 36 percent at the end of last January, and its sales increased by 69 percent compared to the same period last year.
The statistics indicated that despite the decline in the production of liquefied petroleum gas in the Sultanate of Oman by 16 percent, its sales recorded a growth of 31 percent at the end of last January, while its exports witnessed a decline of 99 percent to reach 1.9 million barrels, compared to 131.9 million barrels at the end of January 2021.

As for petrochemicals, benzene production decreased by 53 percent to 8,400 metric tons, and its exports amounted to 7,100 metric tons, and paraxylene production decreased by 64 percent to 16,700 metric tons, while its exports amounted to 13,000 metric tons.
Polypropylene production decreased by 23 percent to 8,100 metric tons, and its exports decreased by 25 percent to 5,800 metric tons, while its sales increased by 45 percent to 3,100 metric tons.
The production of gas oil (diesel) witnessed a decrease of 32 percent, while domestic sales did not witness any significant change, while the amount of exports decreased by 37 percent at the end of last January.
