MUSCAT: Suppliers and service providers must set a price lists for the services provided to consumers in Oman, the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) said.

In a circular issued, CPA legal measures will be taken against violators. The authority said that it had noticed negligence of some suppliers and service providers in setting price lists for services provided to consumers, such as services of repair and maintenance workshops for vehicles and bicycles, and maintenance of electrical, electronic and mechanical devices, oil change shops, driving schools, furniture and decoration stores, interior and exterior design and other similar services.

“We will take all legal measures against violators and calls on all suppliers and service providers to put a list of applicable prices in a prominent place and to abide by the laws and legislation referred to in order to avoid being subjected to legal accountability,” CPA added.
