MUSCAT: The volume of foreign direct investment increased by 5.6 percent to reach by the end of the third quarter of 2021 to over OMR 16 billion, according to the statistics released by the National Center for Statistics and Information.
The Sultanate’s largest investment came from the United Kingdom at the end of the third quarter of 2021, with investments amounting to over OMR 8 billion.
The oil and gas extraction sector accounted for the largest proportion of foreign direct investments at the end of the third quarter of last year, with a value of over OMR 11.133 million, achieving a growth of 10.5 percent.
