Oman hosts joint meeting between GCC, Jordan

MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman held the third meeting of the joint working group between the GCC and Jordan in the field of social development on Tuesday.

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by Ministry of Social Development, hosted the meeting at the headquarters of the Consultative Body of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
 
The meeting dealt with the proposed mechanisms for the detailed joint action plan for cooperation between the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The plan included the exchange of experiences in the field of integrating persons with disabilities into society, taking care of them, training and rehabilitating them to increase their contributions to their societies, and finding solutions and alternatives for shelter institutions for persons with disabilities and the reintegration of persons Those who are enrolled in the community as part of a package of alternative services for persons with disabilities, in addition to the protection of victims of violence and victims of human trafficking and juveniles.
 
The meeting touched on the importance of sharing experiences related to the aftercare of graduates of social institutions, and developing a vision for preparing a joint strategy between the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in all areas of cooperation for all programs that support the individual and the family in the social, psychological and economic aspects.
 
The participants suggested exchanging visits and benefiting from experiences to enhance the capabilities and capabilities of civil society organisations, support cooperation between civil society institutions working in the social field, and exchange experiences in the field of successful experiences for the participation of civil society institutions as supportive bodies for government agencies and ministries in the field of social protection for women.
 
They stressed the importance of exchanging experiences in the fields of early childhood development, preparing joint studies and research in the field of social development, reviewing the experiences of countries in the psychological and social fields, organising exploratory visits to protection, care and social rehabilitation programs for persons with disabilities, as well as exchanging experiences in the development of laws Family protection from violence and juveniles, alternative family care for children, family counselling and early childhood development.
