MUSCAT: More than 5,000 people are expected to turn up for the fifth edition of the International Day of Yoga (IDY) event at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre on Friday at 7pm.

Munu Mahawar, Indian Ambassador to Oman said: “Last year, the embassy celebrated the fourth International Day of Yoga where approximately 5,000 Omanis, Indians and other yoga enthusiasts, practitioners and beginners turned up. We are expecting the same turn-out for this time as well,” he said.

Eighteen yoga organisations in Oman will actively take part in the event. The event will start from 7pm onwards and free mats and T-shirts will be provided. Similar yoga sessions will also be held in other cities, such as Salalah, Sohar and Sur.
