MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik has issued directives to increase the sums allocated to Governorates Development Programme from OMR 10 million to OMR 20 million for each governorate during the current Five Year Plan, with effect from 2022.
The decision was announced by His Majesty during his meeting with the sheikhs of Al Wusta and Dhakiliyah governorate on Tuesday.
The Royal directives require the respective governors to present annual executive plans to the departments concerned about ways to expend the sums. His Majesty the Sultan also tasked the governors with the responsibility of following up the execution of social and service projects in their respective governorates.

Then, His Majesty the Sultan issued directives to provide appropriate financial support to Omani Women’s Associations and to public and private rehabilitation centres catering to people with disabilities, in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, so that these organisations could better perform the significant roles in serving society and developing its potentials.
