MUSCAT: A tourist guesthouse facility in South Al Batinah has been shutdown for operating without obtaining a tourist licence, Ministry of Heritage and Tourism said on Thursday.
In a statement issued, the Ministry called on all unlicensed establishments to stop practicing their activity until their conditions are reconciled and they obtain the necessary approvals. “Continuing to do so will attract legal measures
in accordance with the executive regulations of the Tourism Law,” the Ministry said.
In August, the Ministry had issued a warning to some people who operate villas, apartments, and guest houses as tourist facilities. The statement came after the Ministry observed advertisements and promotions on social media about unlicensed tourist facilities.
