MUSCAT: The GCC Summit has agreed to establish the GCC Railways Authority connecting all six countries.
In a statement issued after the 41st Summit in Riyadh on Tuesday evening, the GCC Supreme Council approved the plan, although no further details were provided. According to reports, all the GCC states are currently working on setting up the GCC Rail network which is expected to connect all the six countries by 2025.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who chaired the meeting on Tuesday, said: “We look forward to building a prosperous economy that depends on diversifying sources of income and keeping pace with developments in all fields.”
