MUSCAT: Ranjith Venugopalan, an Indian expat living in Oman has become this year’s last Big Ticket Abu Dhabi millionaire after he won Dh10 million in the raffle draw on Friday.
Ranjith who has been working in Oman for the last 12 years won in his second attempt.
“I and a few of my friends had pooled in money to buy that ticket. But we weren’t lucky and then I had stopped participating until last month. I thought to try a second time to see if 2021 is lucky for me or not — I am glad it was. This is still unbelievable,” said Ranjith while speaking to UAE based Khaleej Times newspaper.

The 42-year-old who works in Seeb Mall as an accountant is expected to share the prize money with six of his friends. “I had never planned on what to do if I won because I never thought that I would hit the jackpot,” Ranjith who hails from Kollam district in Kerala told Khaleej Times.
