Muscat: Taxi drivers in Oman will have to be extra cautious as they can only pick and drop off passengers from designated areas, according to a new regulation from the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC).
Those taxi drivers defying the rules will face harsh penalties including cancellation of their licences.
In a statement issued on Sunday, MoTC has said that it is an offence for taxis to pick up or drop off passengers at places other than the designated stops.
