“There are about 2,700 government services that are currently being done online which is roughly about 20%. We are in the process of building a unified portal through which all the government services and transactions will be managed and in five years we aim to have all the services being done online,” said His Excellency Said Hamood Al Mawaali.
“Most of the transactions related to the economy and investment will be transformed into digital within the next three years,” the Minister informed.

According to the Minister, the whole e-services will simplify the procedures. “It will not only improve the quality of service but also save time and cost too,” Al Mawaali said in an interview with Al Arabiya TV.
Al Mawaali pointed out that the ministry’s focus on the information technology sector is going in two directions. “It has always been directed to encourage small and medium companies and open the market for them to develop and grow. We also seek to have permanent communication with large companies working in this field, to work on stimulating the sector,” the Minister added. —
