MUSCAT: Passengers going to and from the airport are allowed travel during the full-lockdown period from July 20 to 22, with only one companion dropping or picking them, Oman Airports confirmed on Thursday.
In a statement issued, Oman Airports said: “We would like to inform you that all passengers departing and entering through Oman Airports during are allowed to travel (only one escort is allowed with the presentation of a travel document), taking with regard Covid-19 travel requirements and the procedures and medical tests required for your destination. Taking into consideration that the PCR test facility at MCT airport will remain active under the following terms :
- Passengers should provide their necessary travelling documents.
- Non travelers should call for approval from Royal Oman Police at following number 1099.
We continue our role in responding to the pandemic needs and take the extreme precautionary measures to contain the virus and reduce its spread,” Oman Airport said.

Starting from July 16, the evening lockdown will be between 5pm to 4am until July 31, while the full lockdown comes into effect on the first three days of Eid Al Adha.
