MUSCAT:His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said broadly discussed the regional issues with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
According to a statement issued by the US Sstate Department, Pompeo spoke to His Majesty over phone. Quoting, US State Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagusm the statement said that the Secretary thanked His Majesty for enduring partnership with the United States, as well as its continued engagement and dialogue on the region’s most challenging issues.
“The Secretary and the HM reiterated their strong support for UN Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths and for a political process in Yemen. The Secretary and the HM agreed that parties must follow through on the commitments they made in Sweden in order to demonstrate their seriousness and move the political process forward,” Ortagus added in the statement.
