MUSCAT : Humanitarian cases will be considered during the three-days of Eid Al Adha full-lockdown period, a top Royal Oman Police (ROP) official said. 

Major General Abdullah Al Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations said that the aim of the full lockdown is to contain the spread of the virus. “We will have some exemptions for emergency cases and those excluded according to the decisions of the Supreme Committee as well as all other cases related to food, supply and everyday essentials such as pharmacies fuel and others,” he said. 

Al Harthy also said there will be flexibility for farmers during the ban. “With regard to farms and livestock yards, their owners will be allowed to move but according to clear and specific controls. The animal feed vehicles will be allowed to park at the entrances of the Willard , and those who want to buy the feed can go to them where they park,” he said. 

According to Al Harthy, an individual can practice his work at home during the complete closure. “An individual can practice activities inside his home during the period of complete closure, and gatherings are prohibited,” he said. 

“There will be an operation Center representing the various sectors to deal with emergency cases that may arise during the lockdown,” Al Harthy added.
