MUSCAT: An interruption in the gas supply to a power generation station has caused a major electricity outage in Dhofar on Tuesday, residents informed The Arabian Stories.
“The power outage happened at around 1pm,” a resident in Salalah said.
In a statement issued, the Dhofar Integrated Services Company said its technicians are working to restore the power.

According to residents, the power outage has disrupted traffic. “Traffic signals are not working. We hope the authorities will restore the electricity quickly,” he added.
Meanwhile, Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) said: “The Authority is following the power outage in the Governorate of Dhofar with great interest. While preliminary data indicates that the reason for the outage is the interruption of gas supplies to the production station, the authority is still in contact with the Dhofar Integrated Services Company to find out all the causes of the interruption.”
