MUSCAT: More than 4,900 new industrial applications have been submitted through the Invest Easy portal for new registration and renewal in the first quarter of 2021, according to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP).
“The number of industrial applications submitted for new registration or for renewal ,through the electronic portal “Invest Easy” in the 1st quarter of 2021 – (January-February-March), reached 4981 industrial applications, up by 152.5% , compared to 1973 industrial applications in the same period of last year 2020,” MoCIIP said in a statement.
In this context , MoCIIP pointed out that, the Sultanate’s Industrial Strategy 2040 in collaboration with the other partners in the public and private sectors , “aims at seeking for an investment opportunities for various sectors, strengthening the economic diversification, raising the Sultanate’s rating in the international indicators, promoting foreign direct investment, and enhancing the sultanate’s exports and its diversity.”

Ibtisam Bint Mohammad Al Alawiya, the Secretary of the Industrial Register at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion haa clarified that , the number of new industrial applications of an investment cost less than RO 5,000 , submitted to MoCIIP during the first quarter of 2021 , reached 4737 applications, compared to 1936 applications in the same period in 2020.
