MUSCAT: The night-lockdown has come into force in Oman at 8pm on Sunday, as police patrols have spread over the governorates to ensure no movement of individuals and vehicles.
In the wake of rising coronavirus cases in the country the Supreme Committee has imposed a nationwide night lockdown for an indefinite period between 8pm to 4am during which all commercial activities and public places must be closed. However, essential businesses will be allowed to remain open, and home-delivery services are exempted from the lockdown.
Oman on Sunday registered more than 5,000 new infections including 84 deaths.
